Many times we put on our pages a gallery with our photos, friends, etc, but we always have the edge makes everything look repetitive and monotonous.
Step 1
Open the image you want to create the edge in Photoshop. We must be sure that the same mode is RGB (Image> Mode> RGB Color). We also need to choose the white color as our foreground color (press D and then X)
Perform a rectangular selection leaving room at the edges (8 to 10 pixels away).
Step 2
Press the button Quick Mask (View toolbar). Now, the selection will become a transparent color where we have selected and where it is not red. With this selection we can now work like any chart and apply filters smoothly.
Step 3
Apply a blur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur) with a value of 5-6 pixels (depending on the rim space). And to add an extra effect apply another effect, in this case Crystallize (Filter> Pixelate> Crystalize ).
Step 4
Disable mode Quick Mask by clicking on the button next to it. Now the selection will be as usual, but reversed for the use we want to give you, choose Select> Invert (or CTRL + SHIFT + I) to invert and fill it with white (Edit> Fill … or ALT + Backspace).
Step 5
During the fourth step, instead of applying the effect Crystallize , we can try other effects, and get different results.
