Create a CD with Photoshop

Have you ever had the need to put something on a page and scan it impossible?. The CD or Compact Disc is one of them, but thanks to Photoshop, is not a problem to create one from scratch.

This is another tutorial a bit more advanced than the rest because some steps are not explained 100% like them, plus I explain well above the use of guides and rules, so it is advisable to have done any of the previous tutorials. Any questions you have, feel free to post it in the Discussion Forum Tutorials.

Tips:

Create a CD with Photoshop

Create a CD with Photoshop

1. Started with a new document 400×400 pixels and create a Layer again.

Pressing CTRL + R activate the Rules (Rulers) in Photoshop; this will enable us to use the Guide (Guides).

Clicking on one of the Rules and dragging the mouse inside the image, create a guide horizontally and vertically right in the center of the image.

Now using the Selection Circular, and holding down the keys SHIFT + ALT, we click very near the point where they join Guides and make a perfect circle almost the total size of the document.

2. Fill the circle with a color we like and use the guides again, we again make a circle smaller in the center of the previous circle, only now we press Delete. Then deselect.

The color that I used in this tutorial is as follows: R: 25, G: 206, B: 166.

If we hide now Rules and Guides, pressed CTRL + R and go to View / Hide Guides…

3. Going to Layer / Duplicate… and created a copy of the layer, but before we look to the option is checked Preserve Layer Transparency.

Select white as foreground color.

Using the tool radial gradient mode Foreground to Transparent, make a gradient from top right to bottom left.

Then change the Layer Mode to Normal to Luminosity. If we want less reflection, can be reduced by changing the transparency of the channel.

4. This step is a bit more complicated. Create a new layer and go back to select the Gradient tool, only now use the gradient linear and the gradient will be Transparent Rainbow.

gradient will apply in 4 steps, first from the document left to 1/4 of it, then by 1 / 4 up the middle, then from the middle to 3/4 and finally from 3/4 to the right of the document.

Finally apply a Gaussian Blur of 5 pixels.

5. It’ll Filters / Distort / Polar coordinates… and we choose Rectangular to Polar. We press OK and change the layer mode from Normal to Overlay.

Stay what we should look similar to the example image.

6. Finally, create a new layer above the others and do CTRL + Click on the original Layer where we circle the CD to select it. We took the black as foreground color and will Edit / Stroke with the following settings:

Stroke with: 3 pixels

Location: Inside

Mode: Overlay

Then change the transparency of the layer to 40% and ready.

5 Tips to Get a Background for White in Your Photos

Whether shooting in high key or any type of images to be easily embedded into web pages or presentations, namely how to achieve a pristine white background can be very useful.

Some think that to have a card, a piece of cloth or a white wall is enough. But, as we see in today’s article, that does not guarantee a completely white background, but there are some tips you should implement. Want to know what? Do not miss today’s article.

5 Tips to Get a Background for White in Your Photos

5 Tips to Get a Background for White in Your Photos

A White Material for Your Fund, Is Only the First Step

White background – Support Of course, to achieve a completely white background, very useful to have a material used as background and make it white.

You can get white backgrounds also if you get a large exposure difference between the background and the foreground, for example, shooting against (appropriately offsetting the foreground with a flash), however, is a much more complicated technique.

So if you want to achieve images with white background, the first thing to do is get a background of this color, is it material.

1. Background Not Enough. Suitably, please enlighten me

Once you have made you into the background, if you get fired, you’ll notice how, even though the background is white, in your pictures is possible that this whiteness becomes a grayish tone and in many cases the background present an aspect patchy.

White Background – No light background

In the above picture, the girl stood very near the bottom and a light located at 45 ° with respect to the child, both in the horizontal plane and in the vertical plane. As for the decision parameters were: 85mm, f / 4, 1/250 sec, ISO 100, Flash ON TTL.

2. Separate Al E Light Background Properly the background

In the picture above there were two fundamental errors: A poorly backlit and casting shadow on the background of the subject. How do I solve it? Very simple with a second source of light and space between the subject and the background.

White Background – With Illuminated Fund

The difference of the image with respect to the above has basically split the baby in more than half a meter from the bottom and adding a second light source behind the baby and stressing on the merits. The output of this second light source has been 1/32 of the total power.

3. Background Adequate lighting is Fundamental

While the above image is an improvement compared to the first point, the fund does not end if you were looking for, yet it is not pure enough. How do I achieve this? Thus increasing the intensity of the light source that acts on it.

Flash intensity acting on the bottom should be calculated based on trial and error until you get the desired result. The following filmstrip, all parameters (85mm, f / 4, 1/200 sec, ISO 100, Flash principal TTL), unless kept the flash intensity illuminating the background. which was varied from 1/1 to 1/8.

White Background – Background Illumination – Varying

In addition to achieving the intended target, will also be essential to prevent the background. at the time it begins to glow becomes a light source (to reflect part of the incident on him), assume that the foreground is over- exposed.

In the upper strip, all configurations achieve a white background, but only configurations 1/4 and 1/8 powers fail secondary flash affect the foreground.

4. Complementing the Principal Source

It seems that the results of the last two images of the upper strip are the ideal, right? However, there is an even improved appearance and is all generated strong shadow on the face of the baby. To correct this and achieve a smoother, more natural result we could choose one of the following options:

A third flashes to complement the action of the primary flash.

A reflector in the opposite position to the primary source to try to soften the shadows.

As it is unusual to have three flashes (main and supplementary background), I opted to show preferences by the reflector. And here I show the result: White Background – With light and reflector

The decision was made with the following settings: 85mm. f / 4, 1/200 sec, ISO 100, TTL Flash Home, Flash background eighth, Reflector  opposite main source. Have questions about the lighting scheme used? Well then I let a sketch of it and to its right a picture of “study”:)

Now it is clearer how we got the picture, right?

5. What If I show you a video to dispel any doubt?

Although I think I’ve been pretty clear with the elements to consider: background, background lighting adequate (or excess or by default), separation between background and foreground lighting and compensation to avoid strong shadows; there may be something that you escape.

With these important tips to achieve a white background in your pictures, I hope that what has been said in this article and with a little imagination you can follow it without problems.

Space, the Final Frontier with Photoshop Space

This article is devoted entirely to space. In this first installment, the most basic of all: how to make a representation of a star-filled space.

1. Create a new document the size you want and you look to the background is black. Then go to Filter / Noise / Add Noise … and we use the following values:

Amount: 80 pixels

Distribution: Gaussian and

Mark Monochromatic

2. Now let’s Image / Adjust / Levels … and we use a value of 0.40 in the middle box, as pictured.

3. And voila, we have a starry space. If you want to play with the values of the Levels, you can, by moving the selector means further to the right, we get fewer stars and vice versa.

Space Nebula with Photoshop

Here we will learn how to make a nebula we usually see in movies or images of the universe.

1. Started the tutorial where we left the last. If you have not seen it, check out the Tutorial on Space. We continue to create a new layer above the previous one.

t16 1

2. Choose the default colors by pressing D we invest and then press X, that way we will have the black background color. Now chose the red face and let Filter / Render / Clouds.

t16 2 300x207

Now, let’s filter / Render / Difference Clouds, and re-apply the same effect by pressing CTRL + F until you get some kind of image that we like for our nebula.

3. Finally, change the mode of this layer, from Normal to Screen and voila, we have created our nebula. If you think there are too nebulous, always can change the transparency of the last layer until the desired results are.

Sand background texture in Photoshop

Now let’s learn how to make a texture that simulates sand. The purpose of it is to use it as background for Tutorial Text Effect with stones.

1. Created a new document (CTRL + N). Then take a color “sanded”.

t27 1

Rojo (Red): 190

Verde (Green): 163

Blue (Blue): 135

Pressing Shift + F5 dialog box appears to fill the background with this color. Or we press ALT + Backspace.

2. Lets give a less flat appearance. We apply the effect found in Filter> Noise> Add Noise, with a value of 10%, Gaussian and mark on Monochromatic.

t27 2

3. Created a new Layer and fill color Black. Then take the Airbrush (tool Airbrush) and a large brush (about 65 pixels) make some areas white here and there, as the example. We need to look to the pressure (Pressure) of the tool is low (50% or less).

t27 3

4. For the appearance is not so marked, apply a Blur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur) of 25 pixels or so. Then return to apply the Noise (Filter> Noise> Add Noise) with the same values as before.

t27 4

5. Finally we change the layer mode from Normal to Soft Light.

t27 5

Usually, we have a lot of sand for use in what pleases us. How to fund a tutorial next perhaps?

Rounding Edges in Photoshop

Also do you think that the Photoshop tool for round edges does not give everything it should? Using the following technique can be rounded any edges in a very personalized way.

1. Open a new document (Ctrl + N), we all head to the window channel and create a new channel (New Layer). We choose the default colors (by pressing D), and then draw the figure will be rounded.

t9 1

2. Going to Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur … and we choose a value of 3 or so. Keep in mind that many choose this design because it is a small, for larger designs will have to be eljero values about 6 or 9. The amount of blur that we will associate with the radio then has rounded parts.

t9 2

3. Going to Image> Adjust> Levels (CTRL + L) to we call the window levels (Levels) and move the controls marked in red closest to the control center.

t9 3

4. Already, we have our selection with rounded edges. Now we must return to the RGB channel, load the selection and fill with the color you want. It is important to know that the more Blur applies to the image, the greater the effect it will have rounded it.

t9 5

5. Exists in Photoshop command that does almost the same job and is by going to Select> Modify> Smooth . but the end result is not as configurable as this tutorial.

Pointillism - Texture

Among others, one of the most frequent questions I get is how I made the background beneath the logo of Web Studio on the old site header and footer of all pages of the site. Well, I set out to decipher the mystery.

Vale clarify that it is not a simple effect to explain, but I’ll try to describe all the steps as best I can. If you still do not fell like in the example you came or not at all, you can use the Discussion Forum to ask questions.

1. Created a new document, and having selected default colors (Pressing D), apply the Filter> Render> Clouds. We need to get an effect in which there is equal amount of dark and light colors, so we press CTRL + F until you get an image like this. Then give the color tone we like, if we go to Image> Adjust> Hue / Saturation… and mark the box Colorize. Modify the values to get.

t24 1

What I used are Hue: 220, Saturation: 50, Lightness: -10.

2. We spent the palette Channels and create a new one. Then, take the tool Rectangular Selection and within the channel, make a selection 22×22 pixels. Invert the colors with CTRL + I.

t24 2

Deselect tool and chose the Circular Selection, and make a circle (holding down SHIFT ) inside the square we just did. We return to invert the colors.

Finally, we again take the tool Rectangular Selection, choose the full square, invest colors and we will Edit> Define Pattern.

3. Created a new Channel and fill it with the chart we just did, for it will Edit> Fill and Use we choose Pattern.

t24 3

If you are using Photoshop 6, in addition, they will have to expand the window of the Patterns and choose you just did.

4. We are back where we had our back and we’ll Layer> Duplicate Layer. Thereupon apply Filter> Pixelate> Mosaic and the amount put 22.

t24 4

Then, load the selection of the Channel last we create. We can do this two ways:

1) Go to the palette Channels and while you press CTRL, we make a click on the Channel.

2) We’re going to Select> Load Selection and Channels chose Alpha2.

5. Then copy (CTRL + C) and paste (CTRL + V) in a new layer. We should not notice any difference, unless we have a new Layer. Now delete the previous layer, which is in the middle and see what we are getting closer.

t24 5

6. Going to background Original and we apply a Blur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur) of 5 or 6 pixels. As a last step, so we can only change the blending mode of the layer of circles Normal to Screen. So the effect is very strong, so he lowered the transparency up to 15% or less to taste.

Fluffy texture in Photoshop

As a first tutorial on creating a texture, I will explain how to make one of the first textures I learned to do. It is very simple and can be done from Photoshop 4 onwards.

Fluffy texture

1. Created a new document the size you need texture, and apply a Filter> Noise> Add Noise with a value of 999 (400% in Photoshop 6). We chose Gaussian and Monochromatic.

2. Next apply a small blur to the image (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur) with a value of 3 pixels.

3. In. We need this a little more defined, so let’s Image> Adjust> Auto Levels.

4. This is what makes all the work really. Now we have to apply Filter> Stylize> Diffuse. We chose Darken only and ready.

We have to apply 3 times more the same effect, for which we press CTRL + F 3 times.

5. Now so we can only give a little color. This, as always, will Image> Adjust> Hue / Saturation, we mark Colorize and entered the following:

Hue: 40.

Saturation: 60

Lightness: 20.
