3d Text with Photoshop

1. Open a new document mode RGB and 72 dpi resolution, and hitting the Layers palette, we create a new one by pressing the button Create New Layer Then we type the text you want in the color layer on it.

2. Pressing the CTRL key make a click on the layer where the text is to be selected information transparency of that layer. palette Channels and pressed the button Save selection as channel.

3. Now, we are positioned to create the new channel (Channel # 4) and with the selection still loaded will apply a Gaussian Blur (Filter / Blur / Gaussian Blur) about 3 pixels. We repeat the same operation but with 1.5 pixels and then with 0.75 pixels.

4. We turn to position on the Layer containing the text without deselecting still choose Filter / Render / Lighting effects . You can play around with the options, but I chose the below:

Light type: Spotlight

Intensity: 35

Focus: 69

Gloss: 100

Material: -100

Exposure: 0

Ambience 11

Texture Channel: Channel # 4 (this is important)

Height: 17

5 This should be more or less the result after applying the latter effect. But I repeat: you can always play with the options and see the different types of results that can give the same effect. In this case you can change the types of lights, its position, the materials, the height etc.

6. To even give you a much more 3D effect to the lyrics, you can always apply a shadow, that depth over the ground.
